To The Next Chapter

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Now I have been pretty silent recently on social media and haven't posted anything here since I went to Prague a few months ago.

But bbe's I am back, and I'm in a new apartment.

After 2 and a half years at Hawkhill Close I have packed up most of my worldly possessions into my little fiesta and moved into my new home.

Previously when I moved apartment I found it a pretty easy task. Everything was packed into the car in a few hours and I was in a new flat unpacked within a day.

But honey how this move was different.

It started a few months ago when I was informed that my flat was being sold and I was going to have to find a new place to live, and let me tell you finding a flat to rent in Edinburgh that is nice is HARD.

Everything reasonably priced is either gone within an hour of it being advertised or is about to fall down on top of the 3 generation old furniture that fills it.

Luckily I found a place fairly quickly and after the back and forth with paperwork etc it was finally moving day.

And fuck me it was something I never want to experience again.

I don't consider myself a horder, I actually quite like throwing away things I never get use of anymore, but my god did I have a lot of stuff. Everywhere I looked I found more things I had forgotten I even owned, and hunny it took me a full week to pack everything away and even on the day I had to move I still hadn't finished packing everything.

Now working in hospitality has its advantages but also its disadvantages such as finishing work around 2am in the morning and of course I decided it would be beneficial to move some things over to the new flat at that time to get ahead of the game.

Oh how I was wrong. (If you follow me on Instagram you will be well informed of my day)

First problem was that of the lift being broken at my old place where I had to cart everything up and down 5 flights of stairs. Within a 3 hour period I had done 26 flights of stairs... 26! Gurl I thought I was going to collapse at any second.

Second problem was that yo girl over here locked both sets of his new flat keys inside my new flat and had to wait until the letting agency opened so I could get a set of keys.

Things slowly were beginning to look on the up when a friend joined me and the lift was fixed making things go a lot quicker.

But of course my luck ran out after a few hours... about to leave to get the final load from my old flat my car battery died. DIED.

What I thought to be a pretty straight forward task turned out to be a full day of what seemed to be an episode of "The World Against Kieran".

A glass of wine and a bit of Shania Twain later and things were looking up (mostly through the gaze of being tipsy).

However I am super excited to get everything unpacked and organised and to turn this new apartment into a home.

Now honey it will probably take me about a week to get settled in so a wee PSA - If I'm acting crazier than usual its because I'm tryna sort through a mountain of stuff I have no idea where to put. Just hand me a glass of wine and I'll calm down pretty quickly - KD
