I think it's fair to say that lockdown has been quite rough for everyone, especially during those cold winter months. Being confined to the apartment felt especially worse considering it got dark at 3pm and was horrendously cold. As a fair weather runner, I only left the warmth of my apartment to grab some groceries or to go for a walk just to get me out the house. And although my face may say differently in these photos, I'd be lying if I didn't say how lovely it felt for Spring to arrive. The warmth of the sun shining, the blossoms bloomin' and the longer days are very welcome - it's finally Spring in Edinburgh.
As some of you may be aware I have recently found a love for all floral print clothes. I don't know if it has something to do with the change in the seasons, but I find myself gravitating towards those floral pieces in my wardrobe. A few days ago when I was out on my daily walk I found that the London Road Gardens had suddenly sprouted loads of daffodils and I knew I had to throw on my favourite Spring trousers and head along to take some pictures.
I threw on a classic white t-shirt, a pair of trust hightop Converse and finished the look with a denim jacket for a effortless Spring day look. TBH I did kind of feel like that young art teacher at school who is maybe a little odd... but it was a vibe and I was sticking with it.
I love to take a walk round Arthur's Seat throughout all four seasons, but there is a certain sense of excitement on the first properly Spring-like day of the season, (of which we have probably had 4 this year due to the weather being consistently horrendous recently). Wandering up and round catching views of all over the city is truly magic, especially with the first glimpse of the season blossoming.
Here is to this new season, to a gorgeous Summer and to good times ahead. Have a great weekend and I'll see you back here next week - xoxo KD
