Having a positive day doesn't just stem from what you do in the morning but actually how you spend your time before you go to bed. Hunnies, if ya'll are like me there is nothing better than a good nights sleep. I wake up feeling so positive and ready for the day ahead.
Here are my 7 hacks for a positive day from before you go to bed to when you wake up in the morning:
1. Don't Look At Your Phone
I hold my hands up but I think we are all guilty for this: pj's on, lights off, into the bed and then... spend hours on your phone scrolling instagram. But sis, we need to be putting our phones down when we are going to bed. That blue light isn't doing you any favours. The light coming from your phone screen restrains the production of melatonin, the hormone that controls your sleep-wake cycle. So girl do yourself a favour and put your phone away before you go to bed.
2. Listen to Calming Music Before Bed
Music is more than something simply enjoyable to listen to bbes, and if you are having trouble sleeping this is your answer. In fact it has a effect on your parasympathetic nervous system which helps our body relax and prepare for bed. Picking music is a personal choice but aim for slower tunes. Look for a rhythm of about 60 to 80 beats per minute, usually found among classical and jazz music.

3. Wake Up Early
Now girl... for many of us there is no greater pleasure than sleeping in and staying in bed. But there may be more merit to getting up early. They say the early bird catches the worm. And many people have proven that adage true. Getting up early gives your body time to wake up before you start your day.
4. Make Your Bed
Honey we have been through this one before - make your dang bed.
5. Unfocused? Write a To-Do List
Writing a to-do list, whether the night before or in the morning, is a surefire way to keep you focused on the day ahead. It is a great start to productivity, organisation and can make everything seem more manageable and make you feel grounded sis.
6. Practice Gratitude
Babes I have been doing this for a few weeks now but I am definitely seeing the benefits. People who regularly practice gratitude by taking time to notice and reflect upon the things they are thankful for experience more positive emotions and actually sleep better and express more compassion and kindness. Honey, get yourself a wee diary and write down 5 things everyday you are grateful for... you won't regret it.
7. Do A Little Exercise
This can be any amount you want, from a full blown workout or as little as 10 squats. You will find that you are more focused and alert, in a better mood and have more overall energy.
